Field survey for Astragalus oniciformis along the eastern edge of the Great Rift lava fields

Popovich SJ. 1994. Field survey for Astragalus oniciformis along the eastern edge of the Great Rift lava fields

This report presents results of a substantial survey effort conducted during June 1994 by Steve Popovich (BLM Shoshone District Botanist) and Sharon Weiss (BLM volunteer) to survey for, document additional sites of, and better delineate the range of, the endemic plant Astragalus oniciformis. The survey resulted in finding significant new disjunct populations east of the Great Rift lava flows and confident circumscription of the species range. Associated species are also listed. Other uncommon plants noted include Gymnosteris parvula and Stipa webberi. Several sites occur in areas administered by the BLM within CRMO.
