This study seeks to compare backcountry day hikers and backcountry overnight hikers attitudes, motivations and behaviors towards grizzly bears in Glacier National Park. It also explores the applications of geographic information systems (GIS) to integrate and model social and biological data. Data was collected during the summer of 2001; results show statistical differences in attitudes, motivations, and behaviours between day and overnight hikers.
