This article describes a winter study on Lassen National Forest land, adjacent to the southern boundary of Lassen Volcanic National Park in December 2000 and January 2001. Researchers followed the tracks of two radio-collared female red-foxes for 18.8 km with the objective of comparing cover type availability (forest, shrub, open) with cover type use by red fox.
