To provide information to guide restoration of montane riparian willow comunities, factors influencing the survival of prerooted and unrooted mountain willow cuttings in 2 degraded montane riparian areas in RMNP were investigated. Results indicate that depth to groundwater was a critical factor influencing the survival of both rooted and unrooted cuttings. Few cuttings survived where summer water table depth exceeded approximately 90 cm.
