An inventory of invasive non-native plants was conducted by Utah State University during 2004 in portions of Arches National Park, Northern Colorado Plateau Network (NCPN) of the National Park Service. This is the final report for a two-year project (2003-2004). This report updates and replaces the preliminary report for 2003 inventories. Results of other NCPN park inventories are documented in separate reports. The objectives of this work are to document distribution and abundance of targeted invasive non-native plant species in anticipation of developing effective vegetation control strategies; to identify significant sources of weed introductions and vectors involved in weed spread; and to test and refine data collection and field inventory collection techniques for future NCPN inventory use. A target list of 13 high-priority invasive plant species was identified. Representative photos of species and habitats are included in the report. No voucher specimens were collected in 2004. Maps of areas inventoried and weed locations are provided. Of the 8,166 acres surveyed in Arches National Park (11% of entire park), 747.974 acres were weed infested. The majority (624.766 acres) of this infestation was of Tamarix ramosissima, followed by Centaurea repens (71.931 acres) and Elaeagnus angustifolia (34.645 acres).
