The purpose of this Scope of Collection Statement is to define the types of objects which may be appropriately acquired and preserved for the museum collection at Aniakchak National Monument and National Preserve and outline basic collection management requirments. This statement is a guideline for those people who have legitimate reasons for collecting and for those people who have the authority to accept or decline donations, transfers, exchanges, and loans of museum objects as wellas make decisions regarding deaccessioning.
