Various data sets exist for plant studies at Carey Kipuka. All such data stored at CRMO were reviewed for plant species presence by Jennifer Whipple, Botanist, Yellowstone NP, in the early 1990's (see NatureBib bibkey 77067). The following data form lists were also examined for species lists by Steve Popovich, University of Idaho contractor, who is creating the NPSpecies plant databases for HAFO and CRMO: Ida-7-58, page 3, Plant list for Relict Area; Ida. 7-59; Ida. 8-59; Ida 9-59; and Idaho 7-59, Total Annual Yields, 1959-1961. These data prove problematic because several species listed do not have habitat within CRMO and probably are false reports based upon misidentifications. Any voucher specimens, if collected, have never been located by Park staff, Whipple or Popovich.
