Inventory and Classification of Wetlands at Abraham Lincoln Birthplace and Abraham Lincoln Boyhood Home National Historic Sites

Roberts TH and Morgan KL. 2006. Inventory and Classification of Wetlands at Abraham Lincoln Birthplace and Abraham Lincoln Boyhood Home National Historic Sites. Thomas H. Roberts and, Kenneth L. Morgan. Cookeville, TN

During the summer of 2004, an inventory was conducted to collect baseline information on wetlands at Abraham Lincoln Birthplace and Abraham Lincoln Boyhood Home(ABLI). The inventory was conducted by walking transects of varying widths until the entire park had been systematically searched. National Weland Inventoy maps indicated one potential wetland present at ABLI Boyhood home; no other published data were available that indicated other wetlands occurred inside the park boundaries. When a wetland was found, data were collected regarding wetland hydrology, hydric soils, dominant wetland plant species, location, wetland type and estimated size. Upon completion of the inventory, nine wetlands had been located and characterized.
