This report provides a coastal habitat mapping protocol for use in the Gulf of Alaska as part of ongoing ShoreZone mapping projects and for the future use in other areas of Alaska. The report provides for a published, publicly accessible procedure that clearly specifies a set of standards for intertidal and nearshore mapping so that a users have a clear understanding of the assumptions and methods incorporated into the mapping data and future mappers have guidelines to ensure mapping consistency among agencies and mappers.
