Recent evidence suggests that the nesting success of forest-interior Neotropical migrants is lower in fragmented habitat. To test this, the nesting success of Wood Thrushes was examined in a large contiguous forest from 1993-1997. The activity at the nest and the vegetation parameters at the nest site were both examined to predict daily nest survival rates. However, the results of the test suggest that nest survival rates do not increase monotonically from small to very large forest patches.
