Reed RN and Gibbons JW. 2005. Results of herpetofaunal surveys of five national park units in North and South Carolina. Savannah River Ecology Laboratory. Aiken, South Carolina

The authors and their students surveyed five national parks in the Cumberland/Piedmont Network for herpetofauna (amphibians and reptiles) from 2002 to 2005. This work was conducted as part of the vertebrate inventories for the Inventory & Monitoring Program of the National Park Service, as required by congress in the Natural Resource Challange. Over these three years, the authors documented a number of species for each of the parks: CARL: 28; COWP: 30; GUCO: 17; KIMO: 37; NISI: 31.They also performed an ongoing data mining effort, and reported discovering 1339 specimens in 33 museums, universities and state surveys. These vouchers are from the counties where the five park are located.
