Myxomycetes, commonly referred to as the true slime molds, may develop into a large enough mass to serve as a potential food source for animals. The feeding activities of arthropods on myxomycetes has been well documented but other invertebrates such as molluscs have been studied infrequently. The observations and pictures of slugs feeding on myxomycetes on ground sites, as well as in the tree canopy was part of the ATBI.
