Bat Surveys at Pinnacles National Monument, August 2004 through July 2005
Heady PA. 2005. Bat Surveys at Pinnacles National Monument, August 2004 through July 2005. Central Coast Bat Research Group. Aptos, CA
Bat surveys were conducted at Pinnacles National Monument from August 2004 to July 2005 to assess bat species presence and habitat use within the monument. Mist-net, acoustic, and visual roost surveys were conducted throughout the monument to determine species presence. Acoustic data were used to assess relative levels of activity of bat species in particular habitat types. Sixteen bat species were detected in Pinnacles National Monument, including eight special status species. Areas with particularly high bat activity include the reservoir and riparian habitats.
