A study concerned with habitat availability for neotropical passerine migrants on East Ship Island in the Gulf Islands National Seashore, Florida and Mississippi and Peveto Woods, Louisiana. The vegetation of the study sites are described. Birds were captured and recaptured using mist nets and weighed, measured, and fat score recorded. With the recapture data, the duration of stopover and change in body mass could be determined. The availability of food was determined by sampling insects from the vegetation and air. The results are discussed and presented in tabular and graphical form. A map shows the locations of study sites.
