In July, 1956, a wild{ire burned a large section of McDonalds Branch Watershed in Lebanon State Forest, New Jersey. Several permanently-marked quadrats, established and surveyed two years before the fire occurred,were located in the most severely-burned area. The quadrats were resurveyed in October, 1955, October, 1956, and September, 1957. Virtually all post-fire cover is of sprout origin.
