Hoe WJ. 1979. Haleakala National Park resources basic inventory: mosses. Technical report 25. Cooperative National Park Resources Studies Unit, University of Hawai`i at Manoa. Honolulu, HI

This report, based on the Resources Basic Inventory surveys of 1975-77, seeks to catalogue the mosses of the Crater District of Haleakala National Park. 128 moss species were collected and identified; and the Park is determined to be the sole Hawaiian locality for at least 25 taxa. General crater ecology, phytogeography and the degree of endemism of Haleakala's mosses are also discussed. Appendix A is a catalogue of the mosses of the Haleakala National Park Crater District; and Appendix B provides distribution maps of the species found.
