Describes species found at twenty sites in three areas: the northwestern outer slope of Haleakala between 7,000 and 10,000 ft., the Ko'olau Gap between 5,500 and 6,500 ft and the Kau-po Gap--Lau'ulu Trail. Includes maps. Gives elevation, aspect, general description, soil type, climate, number of specimens, and other information collected for each area. Table for each area lists, by stratum, species found. For each species the scientific name, common name, percent cover, height, status, and comments are given. Section on recommendations.
