A project to inventory selected taxa of parasitic wasps in the superfamily Ichneumonoidea. Describes the project design and preliminary results of Coelichneumon species richness in the Great Smoky Mountains National Park in 1997. This project began in April, 1997 to inventory selected taxa of parasitic wasps in the super family Ichneumonoidae. 609 samples were collected from which 78,243 Ichneumonoid were removed, and 31,200 mounted.
