An inventory of the presence/absence of mammals (excluding bats) was conducted at George Washington Carver National Monument from June 23 through June 28, 2004. Twenty-one species of terrestrial mammals were documented via live trap, pitfalls, photo capture, and random sightings. Species are typical of tall grass prairies, old farm fields, and riparian areas. No state or federally listed species were observed.
