Hay fever pollen survey of Lassen Volcanic National Park

Durham OC. 1947. Hay fever pollen survey of Lassen Volcanic National Park. Abbott Laboratories. North Chicago, IL

A field study was undertaken on July through September to survey air-borne pollens within and near Lassen Volcanic National Park as well as Park headquarters and Manzanita Lake. To determine the different potential plant sources of the wind-borne pollen, a survey of different plants was conducted on August 20-21, 1947. Air sampling was done daily at Headquarters in order to determine the amount of pollen actually occurring within the air. Although the tests were not done early enough the season to catch all of the grass season, it appeared that the amount of pollen was extremely low.
