A survey of butterfly species was conducted at Fort Union Trading Post and Knife River Indian Villages during the 2004 field season. Ten species were encountered at Fort Union, and thirty-six species were encountered at Knife River. The report provides an annotated list of all documented and expected species, with typical habitat requirements, larval food hosts, adult flight periods and other useful information.
