Effects of Habitat Quality on Utah Prairie dog (Cynomys parvidens) Reproduction and Survival
Ritchie ME and Cheng E. 1999. Effects of Habitat Quality on Utah Prairie dog (Cynomys parvidens) Reproduction and Survival
This is a research proposal to examine the effects of habitat condition on the success of individual prairie dog colonies and its implications for metapopulation persistence. Objectives: relate grazing use and vegetation at a colony to individual prairie dog success; relate termal conditions at different colonies to level of activity; relate measures of success to average annual count, population crashes, and other measures.
