In 1986 the Apex Houston oil spill off central California killed many seabirds including Common Murres (Uria aalge). In 1994, funding was provided to help restore and protect areas affected by oil spills. The report describes the Common murre population sizes of the restoration sites, reproductive success, breeding phenology and other parameters to measure the sucess of the restoration project.
