Prairie Inventory Herbert Hoover National Historic Site 2004

Christiansen P. 2005. Prairie Inventory Herbert Hoover National Historic Site 2004

The annual inventory of the reconstructed prairie at the Herbert Hoover National Historic Site was conducted between 9 and 16 August, 2004. The east one-half of the prairie was burned in April of 2004 providing vigorous growth while the west one-half supported lager and more prominent shrubs, having had more time since the last burn to grow. The prairie continues with a preponderance of grass cover, limited prairie forb cover except for tall goldenrod (Solidago canadensis), and minimal cover of weedy species and woody invaders.
