A study to determine the number of vehicles and foot travelers a hiker was likely to encounter while walking wilderness and non-wilderness sections of the Main Road at Cumberland Island National Seashore, including relative numbers of government and privately owned vehicles. Includes a description of hiker use of the Main Road; study methods (observations of road traffic by a walker); results (number and type of encounters); and discussion.
