An update on ongoing projects at the Cooperative Park Studies Unit, University of Georgia. Research projects of interest to Cape Hatteras National Seashore include water quality monitoring at Cape Hatteras National Seashore; habitat preferences of white-tailed deer and feral horses on Cumberland Island; genetic management of barrier island horses; immunosterilization barrier island horses; the response of small mammals to prescribed fire on Cape Hatteras National Seashore; waterfowl use of ponds on Cape Hatteras National Seashore; vegetation changes on Bodie Island, Cape Hatteras National Seashore; disturbance and change in Buxton Woods, Cape Hatteras National Seashore; control of Phragmites communis on Cape Hatteras National Seashore; the use of fire to retard shrub invasion on Cape Hatteras National Seashore; the vegetation of Bodie Island, Cape Hatteras National Seashore; recovery of vegetation in horse and deer exclosures on Cumberland Island National Seashore; and interpretation program on Bodie Island, Cape Hatteras National Seashore.
