recorded terrapin/terrapin signs in most tidal creeks and on many shorelines and areas associated with the intracoastal waterway between the St. Johns River and Nassau River. To locate basking/nesting aggregations of terrapins in Duval and Nassau Counties using mark -recapture method, collect baseline data in distribution, sex ratios, size classes of terrapin Carolina Diamondback, and to assess terrapin habitats in terms of water depth, seasonal air and water temperature and salinity. In 1995, 74 were counted, 1996 141 were counted (6 were recaptures), 1997 2 were counted , 23 were male, 182 were female, 3 were immature, 2 were hatchlings, 1 was a yearling. ANOVA. Extend study area north and south beyond the present boundaries to determine is terrapin distribution is continuous or disjuncted in Northeast Florida
