This first person narrative documents the observations of the author made while hunting in the Alaska Range in what is now known as Denali National Park. The author is generally considered to be an expert naturalist and was an active lobbyist for creation of the Park. Observations on wildlife behavior; animal abundance, distribution, and occurrence; and vegetation are included. Appendices provide lists of birds and mammals observed in the Alaska Range as well as other natural history-related information gathered by the author.
