Report summarizes the first three years of a study (started in 1988) to determine the popultaion status and habitat use of Blanding's turtle (Emydoidea blandingii) at Eleanor Roosevelt National Historic Site in Hyde Park, NY. Mark and recapture data found a small but regionally significant popultation here. Maps of critical habitat are included. Also included is an inventory of othe aquatic turtles at the Home of Franklin D. Roosevelt National Historic Site, Vanderbilt Mansion National Historic Site, and non-National Park sites in Hyde Park, NY. Sixteen amphibian and 16 reptile species were documented.
