Research on wolves in Denali National Park and Preserve, Alaska: summary of '1998' observations
Haber GC. 1999. Research on wolves in Denali National Park and Preserve, Alaska: summary of '1998' observations
Author summarizes October 1997 to November 1998 observations from his continuing field research on wolves in Denali National Park and Preserve. Author monitors wolves throughout the Park and Preserve (north side of the Alaska Range) year-round via aerial radio tracking. From late May through late September, he also undertakes ground observations in the road corridor areas of the park. His objective in this research and similar wolf prey research he is doing in the Fortymile region of eastcentral Alaska is to bring about more enlightened management of wolves and wolf prey systems through a better understanding of wolf ecology, behavior, and wolf-prey interactions.
