We assessed whether carbon disulfide (CS2) would increase attractiveness of baits and feeding sites to the house mouse (Mus musculus). Presence of CS2 significantly enhanced consumption of bait by house mice and mouse entries into, and amount of time spent in, bait enclosures. Females were more responsive to CS2 than males. We suggest ways CS2 could improve the efficacy of poison baits, traps, and tracking powders in rodent control.
