This report describes the effects of fall (November) burning on velvet mesquite, other shrubs and herbaceous vegetation in: (1) undisturbed invasion stands of mesquite, and (2) stands of young mesquites that have come in since the invasion stand was killed with sodium arsenite in 1940.
