In southwestern utah the consolidated and partly consolidated beds of pyroclastics, conglomerates, alluvial sands, and lacustrine silts that postdate the typical Washatch linestones are displayed on canyon walls, in broad valleys, and on drainage divides and differ in origin, age, and mode of deposition. In reports submitted for publication by the United States Geological Survey these miscellaneous deposits have been mapped as the components of three formations: Brian Head, Paurnuweap, and Sevier River.
