Moss Bed Study

Alexander RW. 1998. Moss Bed Study

This project was started in the summer of 1994, to study the effects of people disturbing moss beds at the entrances to caves in El Malpais. Many lava tubes in the monument contain fragile moss beds which are being anthropogenically disturbed. Four sites were photographed over the course of four years. Results and management suggestions are provided.
