Kearns HS and Jacobi WR. 2002. Small Scale Analysis of the Impact of Black Stain Root Disease Centers in Pinyon Pine. Colorado State University. Ft. Collins, CO
In summer 1999, a study was undertaken to examine BSRD (black stain root disease) caused discrete areas of mortality in pinyon-juniper woodlands in SW Colorado. The effects of BSRD on the composition and structure of pinyon-juniper woodlands at the tree, shrub, and herbaceous plant levels and on tree seedling regeneration were assessed.Thirty discreet mortality centers were assessed. Data collected included location, species, height, diameter at root crown, tree status, decline agents, and presence of black stain and Ips.
