Few studies have been conducted on the vegetation and ecological position of the North Rim mixed coniferous forests. Community types were sampled in 1965 by Merkle. Earlier, Rasmussen (1941) conducted a biotic survey of the entire Kaibab Plateau. Other studies involving different objectives have been completed within the last decade. This study is exclusive in its objectives, methods, and results. The findings were much more conclusive than were expected at the commencement of the study. The collected data yielded maximum information to the parametric values. The basis of inventory and resource management will most likely extrapolate on the findings of this study and thus applied management will be aided.
