Historic Structure Report: Part I, Jedediah Higgins House, Cape Cod National Seashore

Lohr EP and Pearce FC. 1968. Historic Structure Report: Part I, Jedediah Higgins House, Cape Cod National Seashore. Historic Structure Report. U.S. Department of the Interior, National Park Service. South Wellfleet, Massachusetts

This Historic Structures Report, Part I for the Jedediah Higgins House includes administrative, historical, and architectural data about the structure. It proposes that the house be rehabilitated to improve its condition, to serve as staff quarters (its function at the time of writing), or to be used later as an interpretive exhibit. Previous management documents did not provide a preservation recommendation and state that no more than routine maintenance was intended on this house, but subsequent deterioration made stronger action necessary. The report recommends interior and exterior repairs for this rehabilitation. The historical data section briefly describes modifications to the structure over time, and existing conditions are given in the architectural data section. One small photograph of the structure's exterior is attached.
