Historic Structure Report, Architectural Data: Small Stone House, Roberts Farm, Armstrong House, Bevins-Hellwig House

Sweetser SM. 1977. Historic Structure Report, Architectural Data: Small Stone House, Roberts Farm, Armstrong House, Bevins-Hellwig House. Historic Structure Report. U.S. Department of Interior, National Park Service. Denver Service Center, Denver, Colorado

This report assesses three buildings located on or near the Old Mine Road, which runs north to south along the Delaware River in northwestern New Jersey, located within the Delaware Valley. The buildings surveyed were built by European settlers from the late 18th to mid 19th century and were, in some cases, occupied by the same families until the mid 20th century. As such, they provide insight into cultural and socio-economic growth of the upper Delaware Valley. The buildings were assessed for their preservation needs and potential managerial or interpretative uses, using a minimally-invasive surveying method. The report was condensed in order to produce a working reference document for park management to use, recording original details, existing conditions, and suggestions for maintenance and restoration considerations.
