Two New Species of Xanthoparmelia with Diffractaic Acid

Parmelia ajoensis (subg.Xanthoparmelia) and P.tucsonensis (subg.Xanthoparmelia) are described as new from Arizona and Sonora, Mexico. The two species are the first and second species of Xanthoparmelia to be described with diffractaic acid. This is the fourth report of diffractaic acid in the genus Parmelia.
