"During winter 1988-89, 362 state, county, federal, and private natural resource personnel provided 1,244 records of wolf observations and sign throughout northern Minnesota. Survey results, combined with GIS data on road and human population density, indicated wolf packs occupied a minimum of 53,100 km2."
