2005 Black Bear Research and Management: Annual Progress Report

Holm G. 2006. 2005 Black Bear Research and Management: Annual Progress Report. Redwood National and State Parks. Orick, CA

Excerpts: "This report sumarizes black bear research and management activities that occurred within Redwood National and State Parks (RNSP) during 2005. The black bear research section was excluded from this report, as no black bear research was proposed or initiated within RNSP during 2004. The management section summarizes all important bear sightings and incidents, bear related meetings and education efforts, funding, known mortalities, and fiscal year 2007 priorities for black bear management within RNSP." A bar graph illustrates the number of 2005 bear sightings reported on RNSP wildlife observation cards, by month. A map shows the general distribution of 2005 black bear observations.. Appendices include a table with date, number, activity, and general location of bear sightings in RNSP during 2005; and the minutes of the Spring and Fall 2005 Bear Panel meetings.
