Study purpose was to provide a baseline assessment of the biotic and abiotic conditions in Ptarmigan Lake, located on the east side of Glacier National Park. The lake is naturally fishless. The study attempts to evaluate the effects of the introduction of brook trout (non-native) on the native lake biota, using two nearby naturally fishless lakes (Shangrila and Natahki) as controls. The report presents a series of data tables describing biophysical variables, water chemistry, temperature and conductivity profiles, and abundance of macroinvertebrates and zooplankton.
