Development of fishes of the Mid-Atlantic Bight: an atlas of egg, larval and juvenile stages

Fritzsche RA. 1978. Development of fishes of the Mid-Atlantic Bight: an atlas of egg, larval and juvenile stages

This is a reference which compiles descriptions of the egg, larval and juvenile stages of over 300 fish species, and includes dichotomous keys useful for identifying species. Descriptions of spawning migrations and life habits of adult fishes, their geographic range and distribution, and movements of fish at all life stages are included. With this kind of baseline taxonomic information, biologists will be able to assess the management implications of power plant sitings and other habitat modifications on aquatic populations, and provide information to decision makers that we believe is necesssary for incorporating environmental considerations into resource development decisions.
