The purpose of this scoping report is to identify Clean Water Act 305(b) water quality reports and 303(d) impaired waterbodies lists, to provide statistics on wetlands and wetland areas potentially impacted by impaired waters, and to describe past and current water quality monitoring programs within 10 National Park Service units, eight in the Coastal and Barrier Network and two in the Northeast Temperate Network: Acadia National Park, Assateague Island National Seashore, Boston Harbor Islands National Park Area, Cape Cod National Seashore, Colonial National Historic Park, Gateway National Recreation Area, George Washington Birthplace National Monument, Fire Island National Seashore, Sagamore Hill National Historic Site, and Thomas Stone National Historic Site.
