Jamaica Bay combined Sewer overflow facility planning project, subtask 5.6 - sewer separation

Obrien & Gere Engineers Inc.. 1990. Jamaica Bay combined Sewer overflow facility planning project, subtask 5.6 - sewer separation

The current NYCDEP policy dictates that areas of new development just have separate storm (high level) and sanitary sewers, except for new development in highly developed areas already served by combined sewer systems. We recommend NYCDEP continue to implement plans for sewer separation wherever possibe. We also recommend and that NYCDEP further investigate potential projects to construct storm sewers to convey presently separated storm drainage, which, due to system constraints at present, is connected downstream to combined sewers.
