At present, limited mass transit service and congested road inhibit accessibility to Gateway National Recreation Area. A transportation plan cannot be fully developed until the National Park Service completes plans for the park. However, the enclosed report indicates the transportation alternatives mose suitable for each of the three Gatewat development alternatives the Park Service currently is reviewing. The report's 'Immediate Action Program' indicates some improvements to existing transportation access already under way.
