Spanish Colonial Research Center publication series, no. 1.

Bibliografia Colombina is a remarkable bibliography containing 2,600 titles dealing with the life and times of Christopher Columbus. Its utility is obvious to anyone interested in researching and interpreting the event of the European discovery of the Western Hemisphere. Although much has been written about the First Voyage and the subsequent early explorations of the New World’s eastern coasts, surprisingly little is popularly understood about them beyond the story of Columbus, the man and the legend. This book is a guide, and nothing more, for the curious of mind to explore, in a penetrating way, the event and the man who changed the course of the history of two worlds: Indian America and Europe. The staff of the National Park Service’s Spanish Colonial Research Center prepared the bibliography as part of its efforts to provide interpreters and researchers as well as the casual reader with a useful reference of published materials related to Christopher Columbus, the man and his times.
