Monthly climate data (temp, precip) normalized for over 3000 stations in Western USA and SW Canada for the period 1961-1990. A spline climate model is described that predicts monthly temperature and precipitation between longitude -102W and -125W and latitudes 31N and 51N. Algorithms that convert monthly values to variables relevant to plant geography and plant physiology are described.
