Statistical tests in publications of The Wildlife Society

Cherry S. 1998. Statistical tests in publications of The Wildlife Society. Wildlife Society Bulletin. 26(4):947-953

In the 1995 issue of The Journal of Wildlife Management (the Journal) has > 24000 P-values. I believe that is too many. In this article I argue that authors who publish in the Journal and in the Wildlife Society Bulletin (the Bulletin) are overusing and misusing the hypothesis test. They are conducting too many unnecessary tests, and they are making common mistakes in carrying out and interpreting results of tests they conduct.
