An intensive study of the utilization of two man-made desert watering places by mule deer, javelina, white-winged and mourning doves, and Gambel's quail was conducted in Tucson Mountain Park in southern Arizona from June 1951 to January 1953. Objectives were to determine what species were utilizing the tanks, daily and seasonal utilization patterns, to study behavior at the tanks and obtain waterhole counts.
